Big News - New Location!

We’ve been talking for the past couple months about expanding our always-full-to-capacity tutoring program. We continue to receive more and more recommendations from the local schools and from parents, but we’ve run into the problem that many students in need of help live across the invisible gang “border” that separates sectors of this community. Depending where families live, they cannot cross into other enemy sectors without putting their lives at risk.

Suddenly and unexpectedly, as a huge answer to prayer, God opened the door to partner with a local church who has plenty of empty classrooms, already equipped with everything we need, who has been wanting to offer reading and writing classes to local children. By offering classes in this new location, it allows us to double our impact as this church is located on the other side of the “border”. Kids who live on one side can attend classes in our original classroom, and kids who live on the other side can attend at the new location. We don’t have to turn anyone away!

We’ve completed our first few weeks in our new location and we’re working to build up and establish the new group! We've met some students with serious needs, including a 12 year old 5th grader who hasn't yet learned to read. We're ready to support these kids in every way we can and give them the education and encouragement they deserve!
